I have an future meeting at 6:00pm in Ahwatukee on a weekday and I was wondering how much time I should allot to drive from 101/Shea to I-10/Warner? I'm assuming that 101 to US60W, then cut south on I-10 to Warner would be the shortest route.

I would allow at least an hour especially at that time of the day. And yes your route suggestion is the quickest way. 101 to 60 then take the 10 to Warner.

I live in the area. Actually, I'd just take the 101 to Warner and head west. The traffic on Warner going west will not be heavy. Looping around on the 60 will get you into a bit of traffic after the I-10 interchange, and the freeways back up fast with the slightest little fender bender. An hour should be plenty.

Agreed on all of this. Avoid the 60/10 interchange and just take Warner. An hour should be plenty but unfortunately not a great time to drive that. If you need food, or an Ikea trip, before meeting I'd drive there, grab a bite, then go to meeting. Only if it makes sense though. Not unpleasant enough to drive down there early.

This is perfect advice.

Many times it is faster to use major streets than freeways during crush hour times, especially if you can time the stoplights just right.

One thing to bear in mind is Ahwatukee street traffic can be heavy around the tail-end of the evening commute so always allow extra time.
