As far as the "getting attacked" bit goes, good. Just as I would applaud those "attacking" people for being racist, for being against women's rights, etc. Why should you be able to discriminate without people opposing you?

To the OP, you will find some of this sort of backwards "tolerance" here, as you would anywhere, but for the most part, people are neutral if not open. That's the nice thing about having a melting pot of people from all over.
