In Scottsdale there is a man [snip- no names, please] who runs an adult website. He lures young college girls in and pays them a few hundred dollars for the shoots. This guy has a well documented std and somehow is allowed to keep running his business. I was wondering with the recent law in California requiring that adult workers use protection could Phoenix see an influx in these "casting" scams? [off topic, no names, please] It would be nice if someone could provide an avenue to report this and run this man out of business before he ruins more lives.

They are already here. Phoenix is a major adult film producer.

I don't think having an STD is reason to close a person's business. I don't know what a well documented one means.

If he is not breaking any laws why should he be shut down?

I'm not sure which way to lean on the subject of: "Should we be worried about the adult film business moving here?", but I do know my answer to: "Should we be worried about the morality police moving here?"

There's plenty of adult filmmakers here. There was talk in the industry about moving entire headquarters and warehouses to Vegas or Phoenix. I don't think it's happening but I would welcome them with open arms. It's jobs and a lot more jobs than on set performers. People choose to participate or give them their hard earned money.

And again - my point of people in AZ proclaiming that they are "Live and let live" until someone does something they don't like rings true once more. Why is this an issue? He runs a business. Even if he has an STD, that's no one's business but his.

Re: casting ads - People are adults. If they choose to go into this line of work, again, their business. Seriously, no one should be caring except the people who are involved.

No. Our business friendly legislature would enact laws to shut the porn industry down at blinding speeds if they got word that their was an increased prevalence of that here. Despite what people may have you believe, we are not an "anything goes" state.

I was looking at craigslist at jobs in/near Flagstaff area the other day and noticed ads asking for movie people, wonder if that's linked to the southern AZ film making biz.

Why should we be worried? I welcome new jobs to the valley. I hope meddlers don't interfere with a legitimate business.

There are lots of people who don't work in the adult film business fooling around with other people spreading STD's. Do you want to monitor them/get into their business too? And lots of people "ruin" their "lives" in various ways without the help of anything except their own decisions/choices.
