Good. I'm glad to see the death penalty off the books. This should never have been a death penalty trial. I hope the judge gives her 25 years and credits her 7 years that she's already served. Let her serve out her 18 years and give her a second chance at life after prison having paid her debt to society.

You think 25 years is an appropriate sentence for murder?? Why would we want someone found guilty of killing another person walking our streets?

Agree. I can understand around 25 years for 2nd degree Murder and even less for Manslaughter, but in a case like this I think a life sentence w/o possibility for Parole should be the lightest we should allow.

Given the circumstances how she was abused by Travis and 25 years is enough to pay for a murder of this nature. She killed an abusive guy, not a child or innocent person. No one deserves to die.. neither did Travis, but 25 years in a maximum security prison is enough time to pay back your debt to society.

Listening to jury interview, she was lucky indeed. It was 11-1 for the chair. The jurors sound like a bloodthirsty, unsympathetic bunch that were out to avenge the guy for his family. The prosecutor did a good job of picking his jurors - except for the one of course.

Arias is going to spend her life in prison because one person decided to spare her life. The final vote was 11-1 in favor of putting Arias to death.

As someone opposed to the death penalty, I am glad that someone stuck to their guns in an atmosphere with so much pressure. It's obvious his/her decision was not popular among the other jurors given some quotes that are out there and with the popularity of this trial there is likely a reporter somewhere who will out him/her and they probably knew it.

Thankfully this circus is over. The national media spotlight will die down. It's amazing how much a pretty face and nude photos can set the national media aflame. Nancy Grace will now have to find someone else to exploit.

Exactly! Seeing comments on Facebook and twitter, it seems that everyone was crying for blood. Someone made a comment about people being like peasants throwing rotten vegetables during medieval times or cheering death with the gladiator mentality. That's exactly it.
