Just moved to the Phoenix area a few days ago from MN. Saw this bug in the place I'm renting when I got home from the store today. I don't plan to make posts every time I see something that I've never seen in MN, but I'm curious what this is? Does one usually mean a lot? Do they bite?

It's body was 0.5 to 0.75 inches long (excluding the feelers), if that helps.

I'm not sure but it looks like it could be a camel cricket. Definitely looks like a cricket at any rate. Crickets are harmless either way though.

Good, I was hoping it wasn't a roach! When I saw it's legs I was thinking a cricket too, but wasn't sure.

Now I can go back to itching the mosquito bites I got the other night I thought I left mosquitoes behind in MN, but I guess not. (Oh well, at least I'm used to those.)

It is a standard cricket...they are everywhere. Nothing to be alarmed about.

They pose no problem unless you have a large population in or near your house. In which case they can become a food source for scorpions and spiders.

Seeing one or 2 is no problem, the problem is if you have a bunch of them, in which case you want to get rid of them.
