Here's the statewide list: 2015 Arizona 4th of July Fireworks Celebrations Guide | Arizona Key Magazine

The two big ones are at Tempe Town Lake and the Fabulous Phoenix Fourth at Steele Indian School Park. Both accessible by light rail, I think the Tempe one is a better show, with the reflection off the water as an added bonus. But, you pay for admission there.

South Mountain...Mormon Trail. Free...no crowds...and you can see nearly every firework show in the valley.

Just curious, what about wildlife at night? Scorpions and snakes and such?

That works so long as you don't want to be up close. Most of the shows are a long way from there.

Exactly why I do it. I've done the up close with crowds and it's horrible.

I've never had an issue with critters while night hiking. Obviously bring a flashlight if you choose to do this...a headlamp makes it easier though. You hear a lot of coyotes in that area. We were howling back and forth with them. It was really cool.

I get it, it all depends on what the OP wants. I'm not crazy about crowds, but I wouldn't want to sit up on the mountain by myself, either. More often than not, any more I watch them on TV.

Yep. Depends on the year, but sometimes the comfort of one's own bunkhouse is tops with me as well!

I'll never forget the experience of watching the Boston July 4 fireworks from a boat in the Charles River, with the Boston Pops playing, or the International Fireworks Festival in Vancouver, which I also watched from the water. After that, might as well watch on TV. Nothing in person comes close.
