Hello! My husband and I are very seriously considering making the move to the Pheonix area from Illinois. We have 2 children and our little pug Vader. After many years of devoting every weekend to yardwork we know that apartment life would definitely be for us. We love to swim and workout so those are 2 amenities that are important, as well. What I'm wondering is, what general area (areas) should we be considering? I've heard that we should stay away from apartments near ASU because of the party culture. We homeschool so we are almost always going to libraries, museums, zoos and aquariums. A close proximity to these facilities would be a plus. Of course, having children, safety is our #1 concern. Thanks in advance!!

There are lots of nice areas all over the Valley. All complexes have pools, I'm sure there are several nice ones with workout facilities, and of course there are gyms all over. Nice complexes in Tempe area to the south, away from campus, so you don't have to write off Tempe completely. Tempe offers easy access to the Phoenix Zoo, and good public transit to downtown Phoenix for the museums there (not to mention the resources at the university)

First question is always where you will be working, assuming someone is working outside the home. Commutes can be very long here. Second question is budget.
