"Tempe is getting a 15-story Kimpton hotel, which is scheduled to be part of a new development along Mill Avenue.The top-ranked boutique hotelier will be managing the hotel at One Hundred Mill, the twin office and hotel towers taking over portions of the old Monti’s La Casa Vieja. The Hayden House Tempe LLC project is developing the $190 million project at the corner of Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway."

Kimpton did a pretty fine job at the Hotel Palomar in downtown Phoenix. It has a fantastic rooftop pool! It will be interesting to see what they bring to Tempe.

Well, those are the plans, but will it really materialize??? Another article from the Business Journal last year stated groundbreaking would start in mid 2015 (see the above link). Here it is past the midpoint of the year, and no groundbreaking has taken place. I'm hopeful that this project will come to fruition because the last thing I want to see is the historic La Casa Vieja left vacant and dilapidated.
