"Gilbert's Heritage District is set to become the newest Arizona home to Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row, a live-music restaurant and bar with locations already in Scottsdale and Tempe.
But the reputation of the other Valley locations has some Gilbert residents worried that the new establishment will be too loud, rowdy and risque for the family atmosphere of downtown."

Gilbert residents clash over new Dierks Bentley bar

I bring this up because people ask Chandler vs Gilbert which city should I choose. This incident sort of answers that question. Gilbert is very conservative which may or may not be right for you.

I bet if some Gilbert residents hear the chorus of "Friends in Low Places" just one more time, anywhere, this bar thing will NOT happen.

I avoid Gilbert like the plague. Maybe Dierks should open it closer to the stadium on the west side instead.

I can only imagine the reason they didn't put it in downtown Chandler is the demographics. Dierks' is a country bar and country music is not big among Asians, Hispanics and African Americans which Chandler has a higher percentage of particularly in the downtown area.

The article is pretty amusing. The owners of the bar are trying to sell it more as a restaurant but the residents are not fooled. LOL
