Hey All, I am staying at a Red Roof Inn in Tempe on 15th street near 52nd and Broadway. How is the area? Is this a nice hotel? How close is it to ASU?

You're actually the second person to ask about that hotel this week! I don't know much about the actual hotel itself. The immediate surroundings are your typical airport corridor light industrial/warehouse, office buildings district. The residential neighborhoods in the general vicinity are very blue collar, working class. A lot of fast food joints along Broadway between Mill and Priest. I wouldn't want to live right in that area, but I don't see what's wrong with staying there for the night in a hotel. Right on the other side of the freeway is the Buttes resort (formerly wyndham buttes, I think), which is a nice niche resort in the area; so the area can't be that bad. It's about 2.5 miles from ASU and downtown Tempe.
