I think the title says it all, I'm a truck driver and phoenix has become my home O.C., just looking for a few good places to have a few beers and shoot some pool.

Leave it to a pool widow to know the real answer!
DH and I lived in the East Valley for 25+ years, and he played pool several dats a week for alll of them. After he retired, he played 5-6 times acweek, minimum. Since we moved in 2012, we revisit at least once a year, primarily so he can play pool with his buddies.
Phoenix is a GREAT pool shooters town. Sadly, Raleigh is not, and that has pretty much been his only disappointment in our relocation.
Keeping in mind that he prefers to shoot in the afternoon, he frequents Charley's at 42bd Avenue and Thunderbird. I'm told the food is surprisingly good, and I'll assure you the crowd is friendly and mostly locals. He would drive from our home in FAR East Mesa to play here. The gas consumption drive me nuts.
Not in West Phoenix, but Kitty's at 36th street and Thomas is another of his haunts. Classic dive bar (in a good way). I thought it was getting a bit grungy when we were there last year.
BullShooters at 33rd Ave and Peoria is a LARGE sports bar with pool tables, darts, ping pong, etc. Probably skews younger than the other two places I mentioned.
