I am looking for suggestions for the best way to drive to Las Vegas coming from Phoenix. I want a route that does not take me across the dam.

For an 'adventure'
, take I-10 west to CA. Hang a right at the first interchange, US95 north. Not the best way, but it is a "road less traveled" and you'll see the river out your right side window. I did it once in the mid 1990s and there was very little traffic.
Or take the much shorter route-just drive to Bullhead City, cross the river there into Laughlin and then pick up US95. Everyone should pass through the metropolis of Searchlight, NV at least once in their life.

I would vote for 93 up through Wickenburg - Wikiup Kingman then hook a left up and over the pass to Bullhead city and up to Searchlight into Vegas.

And I agree. Going over the dam is fine. I do it all the time. Going through Searchlight is way out of the way.

This is the way I go and it's the closest method that I've driven.

The quickest way is over the dam to Vegas. All the other ways are sightseeing ways, which are not much to see.

, take I-10 west to CA. Hang a right at the first interchange, US95 north. Not the best way, but it is a "road less traveled" and you'll see the river out your right side window. I did it once in the mid 1990s and there was very little traffic.
