Hi all.

I'm heading down to Phoenix in the next week or so and I need recommendations for a good reliable place to board my two Korean Jindo dogs while I am there, which will probably be for a couple of weeks. Dogs are well behaved and socialized with other dogs and people. Vaccines are current. Camp Bow Wow in Av9ndale seems to have good Yelp reviews, but I was hoping to find a place closer as I want to visit the dogs daily.

Also, need lodging for myself. If anyone could recommend a B&B or extended stay hotel in the metro area, it would be appreciated. I have Googled this, of course, but was hoping maybe the locals could give some guidance on reliable places.

Many thanks.

Closer to what?

Hotel-wise, I like the Fairmont Princess or The Sanctuary.

Closer to downtown Phoenix? I don't know the area very well, but it looked like Avondale was 18 miles from downtown. Is that correct?

ETA: Thanks for the recommendation on the Princess and the Sanctuary. A bit out of my price range though. Probably end up at Embassy Suites or something like that.

You didn't mention downtown in your original post. The Palomar would be my hotel rec then. The boarding facility that we use is in N Phoenix, which may be even further than Avondale.

I did not, my error. I'll check the Palomar. Many thanks.

Why not keep the dogs with you? There are many extended stays that will allow the dogs.

Most of the extended stay places I've looked into accept pets. A couple only accept one, but most allow two (I have 2 cats). Look on AirBnB, VRBO and the usual hotels with kitchen facilities (Marriott, Homestead, etc).

And the owner's WERE prosecuted and received jail time (not enough) and are not allowed to deal with boarding facilities, so I doubt OP has to worry about it.

All La Quinta and Red Roof inns are 100% pet friendly. I think 100% of the units include a microwave and mini fridges. Want something nicer? Scottsdale Resort is pet friendly. The Wyndham Suites in Tempe is pet friendly with kitchen facilities.

There is no good reason to put your dogs thru the risk and discomfort of boarding them,
