Well, I got my route all figured out and all my hotels reserved. Taking 40 to Flagstaff, 17 down to the 303 and into Buckeye :-).

Nothing to be afraid of on I-20. I've taken it about 30 or more times from Atlanta to Dallas the last 20 years. Plenty of brand hotels and dining along the way. I have spent nights in both MS and LA along the way.

This thread was very helpful to me as well. Thanks for all of your feedback! I will be packing up my car next weekend and rolling out of Charlotte Sunday morning. I’m planning to take 40 with overnight stops in Nashville, Little Rock, Oklahoma City, and Alberquerque. Looking forward to road tripping across this beautiful country and starting my life in Phoenix.

Ahhh, your route brings back memories. We stayed in Oklahoma City and Albuquerque during our journey. Safe travels and let us know when you arrive.

Curious - Did Charlotte just not agree with you...I relocated from Charlotte 4years ago. Best move I could have made, professionally and personally.

westcoastbabe-I moved to Charlotte from Northeast Ohio 4 years ago and overall I’ve enjoyed my time here. I was in no hurry to leave, but then the company I’ve worked for the past 17 years (almost my entire career) went through a significant reorganization and I lost my position. I wasn’t having much luck finding employment here in Charlotte so when I got an offer in Phoenix (which I’ve always loved and been drawn to) it was a no brainer. 😊

So in answer to your question, it wasn’t that Charlotte didn’t agree with me, but I do believe that bigger and better things await me in Phoenix. 😃

That was the case with me as well. I loved living in Charlotte, but got a better opportunity in Phoenix.

Hello Westcoastbabe, I actually left SD CA and moved to CH 3 years ago for my career. I've been with my company for 23 years :-) I really like Charlotte but I have no family here and it has been really hard to make friends. I work from home with my company now, so I am moving closer to CA so that I can be closer to my family again. Really enjoyed it here, but very excited to be within driving distance to my family and get back to warmer sunny day every day :-)..
