According to Gasbuddy.com, Phoenix and Boston gas prices are the same with an avg of 2.90

According to their gas prices heat maps, we have prices from 2.60 in southern AZ to over $3 in the north and northwest AZ. We are no where near CA, NY or Hawaii averages but still seems like we have been getting higher in the rankings. I always remember comparing prices with people back in New England and how low it was here compared to Boston or even CT. Now, it seems we are not that off.

I believe it just depends on the economy, or what parts of Arizona you're in. In general... we're still lower than most places across the nation.

It's fairly normal for gasoline prices to fluctuate from time to time. They rise... they fall... they rise... they stay... they rise... they stay... they fall... they rise...

Have they risen a bit lately? Sure.

I remember when we moved out here last august, I was thrilled with the gas prices out here; it was 213 for months near my house, and, after coming from Illinois where the prices changed every day,(always up)I was really happy with the same price for at least 3 months or so..sure its gone up since then, but, its come down a bit recently, so still ok with the fact that the prices are at least consistent out here, at least by my house. And, by shopping at Fry's, I earn alot of gas discounts, which I never saw in Illinois..

Default Valley Gas Prices

Why are gas prices so high in our area? I just got back from a trip to the midwest and found gas prices between here and there to be between 25 to 50 cents cheaper.

What area are you in. For 87 octane regular I recently paid $2.99 in Wisconsin and $2.89 in Minnesota. When I left Phoenix it was $2.69.

We went higher in spring and never came back down much. Gas was 2.35 in Oklahoma when I went through a couple weeks ago. In WI it was 2.75 ish. You can check the Gas Buddy heat map and see the west is high compared to many places.

It's $2.66 at Samsclub in Avondale which begs the question why it is 30 cents higher everywhere else around there.
