I have 2 teeth that need dental implants, my dentist wants 3000 for a rear molar and 4000 for a front tooth. I know there must be a less expensive dentist out there that will do a good job.
Anyone have a recommendation or a good experience with a lower cost dentist?

is it cash only down there, or can you use a credit card?

I know the one I go to you can use a credit card but they do charge you a little more to cover their fees. I think most down there accept credit cards but you get a better deal with cash. Also going in the off season is recommended,it's a zoo there during snowbird season. You can easily wait several hours crossing back into the USA side if you're not out of there before 12-1 pm. This time of year through October isn't bad and there's usually minimal wait times (10-20 mins.) crossing back over.

good info man, thanks!

On their website they say things like "from 800 dollars"...did you actually ever get one for that price, or is it the old bait and switch, where 800 turns into 1600 suddenly..and, in many cases, you have to go back more than once, did that ever happen to you, and how do you handle that?

Those are probably their old prices for implants and I'm betting just the implant and not the tooth, extraction or bone graph if needed. With implants it could be anywhere from 3-4 trips depending o what one needs. Some need an extraction and bone graph and the graph usually needs a few months to heal. Then you place the implant and that's anywhere from 6-12 months depending on how that heals and final step is the new tooth.

I haven't had an implant done yet but I do need one. I've had a few crowns done there and they're perfect. The prices have been going up over the years but still much cheaper than here in the states, especially if you don't have insurance. This is where I've been going http://www.navadental.com. I see Dr Ernesto, they're two brothers who own the place. They're a little more than some dentist there but the office is very clean and they use all the newest stuff like digital scans instead of the old way of bitting in that gross gooey mould for your impressions and crowns can usually be done in one day. Give me a shout if you need any more info.
