Moving to east valley in May. A couple years back we left San Diego, and a free parent/kid "pre-school" program my wife really loved (San Diego Community College District Continuing Education » Classes » Family Education Parent / Child Programs » Parent / Child (http://www.sdce.edu/classes/family-education-programs/parent-child.php - broken link)) for our older two kids.

Looking for like type programs for parent/kids in Phx, not just drop-off preschool. We want something my wife can attend along with our youngest(2.5yrs old).

The stubborn part of my wife would be annoyed to pay when she had those classes for free in Cali. I personally would be happy to pay a reasonable monthly fee if it satisfied her need for such classes. Can't be an income based program. Something that lets parents and kids meet several times a week in a structured classroom setting, with occasional fieldtrips. I've thought about playgroups some, but we're looking for more education and structure as opposed to just meeting up for activities. I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions. This is my last remaining item I need to address to ease our transition into AZ.

Default Pre School Programs

Hi: I work with the parents of toddlers who have developmental delays. Ages birth to 3. When they transition out of our Early Intervention program, they go on to their local school district preschool for a special needs program that is usually 3-4 days a week for 2.5 hours a day. This is free for the special needs kids but each district also offers this preschool to any other toddlers in the district, for a small fee. Parents usually love this program and there may be a wait list to get in, depending on what district you are in. Scottsdale, gilbert, chandler and mesa all have this program. Other alternatives would be the Recreation programs in each area. chandler has an extensive one with programs for little kids. Hope this helps
