Looking for places to go shooting out in the desert, I found one place by Lake Pleasant but would like to find more.
Thanks.

Ben Avery. You can shoot on a proper range in the desert.

If you're looking for open desert shooting, there are places off the beeline in the Tonto NF. Sycamore Creek (around mile 204) is pretty good.

They have all the rules posted at the entrance and on the website. Take all your brass and debris out with you please (even though you'll see that many don't).
They close it sometimes (like May- Aug due to fire danger) so check the website for that too.

if you go on a weekend, go EARLY so you don't have to wind thru 5 miles of dirt roads to find an open spot. Cell service is very spotty so keep that in mind.

Are you folks members of AZCDL? If not, please join... the Legislature is in season, which means our rights and our liberty are in danger.

Also, I hope you'll attend the 2nd Amendment Rally on Saturday, February 15th!

I've been following this thread and I appreciate the suggestions so far... Any good "pull off the road" and practice places locals would recommend?
