Hey there. I bought a home in a neighborhood that was in the process of being built last year. About 3 weeks ago the construction company started to build homes directly behind us. At first they started at 4am and then at 3am. I'm up fairly early, so even at 3am it wasn't terrible.

Lately though they have started to do construction as early as 1:30am. Is this a bit too early?

I looked up the Maricopa noise ordinance for construction and it says that construction cannot begin earlier than 5am. But 1:30/2am is a bit too early I think.

Trying to beat the heat. Perhaps there is leeway with record temps but if it's causing a nuisance all you can do is report.

Are you in a city limit? If so, check the city ordinances. If there are none, report to county.

Haha I suppose I did. I was running on crunch time while getting ready for work when I posted this. It's amazing what losing 4 or 5 hours of sleep can do to you.

Yeah but come on! 1:30am? That is not acceptable. They are about 200 ft. from my house.

Yeah I definitely feel for the guys that have to work out in this heat and don’t blame them for wanting to get an early start, but what you’re dealing with is crazy. I couldn’t live with it.

I was able to get in touch with the Avondale code compliance officer that made contact with the site foreman to make them aware that 1:30am construction will not happen again.
