Well, most of the bars and clubs there you have to be over 21 to enter. But most are very pricy and expensive. I've only been to 2, but they were bars, not real nightclubs (I don't like nightclubs, personally). But there's quite a few of them.

You just have to look around, ask around, and find the type that is your style. There's many different types of clubs and bars there, that play different types of music. You just have to find the right one for you...

Good luck and welcome to Arizona!!

There are outdoor cafe's and the like. You can sit on the patio's and you don't have to be 21. Coffee shops.. Get into a club of interest. If you go for a stroll downtown Scotts. you'll see some cafe's and they have acoustic nights and some fun things for kids not quite 21. You might look for some others from Germany and they could clue you in as well. Make it easier to get out a little. Are you German? I'm sorry, I guess you don't have to be German to be coming from Germany. lol

Yeah, I forgot about some of those cafes there. Thanks for reminding me, Twiggy. I've been to 1 of them and it was a lot of fun...Try those and ask around. Also get a phone book and just call around some of the night spots that might accept you in.

Well welcome to the great city of Scottsdale! I hope your stay here is nice and that you can experience first hand why so many people love the desert life in the Valley of the Sun.

The general rule of thumb, when it comes to nightlife in Scottsdale, the farther south you go, it tends to get that more "urban" kinda "mainstreet" feel to. The farther north you go, the more suburban it becomes. Remember, although we are an "edge community" by origin, we are still a very spread out city, with activity happening in all parts. There are some nice malls in the northern sections of town, but if you are looking for nightlife, you won't find the abundance that you would in south Scottsdale. I'm not so sure about specific nightclubs, since I'm not into that kind of thing, but there are lots of cafes and restaurants, both indoor and outdoor, everywhere. Again, like others have said, your age might become a slight problem. There is also a good mix of chain, (although they are American chains so that might by ok with you), and a very nice selection of upscale locally owned restaurants that are fantastic. You will tend to pay more for these, but you do get the atmosphere, and the ambience of the whole scene in many of the locations. If you would like I could give you more specific instructions to some of our family favorites, but they really arent that hard to find, once you get in the area. Good luck, and enjoy Scottsdale!

You could find a date who is over 21 and have her buy you a drink, or go to a bar that doesn't card hard. I was your age one time, it really sucks that you can fight and die for your country, but you can't have a glass of wine. Also, expensive places in Scottsdale rarely ask to see I.D. because they are classy and you pay a lot, but places with young kids on a budget (Tempe) ALWAYS ask for I.D.
