I have been craving corn burritos(bascally a taquito with beans instead of meat with cheese and hot sause over them) but i cant find any in the Phoenix area

I used to get them all the time in California.

Does anyone know where to buy them in the west valley?

Yum, that sounds good. Funny I've never had them before or seen on any menu. I think I've eaten at nearly every mexican restaurant in the LA area and most of Phx, too.

If I had to guess, they are a Sonoran thing....so I would try one of the more "typical" Sonoran type places. Have you tried Pepe's Taco Villa on Camelback around 27th ave? I bet they would know how to make them. I love that place. Cheap, old fashioned Sonoran and the wait staff is very nice.

I think you have it backwards. Sonoran cuisine tends to favor flour over corn tortillas.

Really? I surely don't have any proof, but in my experience Sonoran in so Cal and Phx uses both. With lots of gloppy, milky beans and yellow grated cheese.

I'd be glad to learn more.

Try googling "sonora flour tortilla". The general point is that while corn tortillas are used throughout Mexico (including Sonora), the flour tortilla originated in Sonora and is much more prevalent in their cooking than it is in states farther south.
