An awful lot of people throw lit cigarettes out the window from their cars. I see this all the time and I'm fed up with it. If someone wants to smoke, that's their problem, but when they throw a lit cigarette under my car they just stepped on my toes.

I'm not trying to pick on Phoenix; I saw this all the time in Boston as well. It's annoying, and potentially dangerous.

Vulgar and self-centered. I figure most smokers aren't, but these people sure are. If I had a way to catch the cigarette and shoot it back into their car I'd surely do it.

Meh, gum throwers are more annoying. I'm sure you've stepped on gum before.

Try riding a motorcycle and see how much more you notice this stuff. People spraying their windshields off in front of me are a joy too.

Yeah... the world is their ashtray... and, has been since day one... these are most likely the very same people who rarely (if ever) wash their hands after using the bathroom... or, throw their used paper towels on public bathroom floors... or, never hang up their clothes at home... or, never pick up after themselves anywhere... or, never load the dishwasher... etc...etc...

Sheesh.

A young couple in front of me today tossed two bags of fast food refuge right out of their window.

Amazing.

That's okay... somebody else will get it... probably their mothers!

I'm a smoker and I find smoking butt-throwers very irritating. I never throw butts whether driving or walking.

As for new cars. I rented a car one time in Minneapolis and it didn't have an ashtray in it, but I don't know if it was because it was manufacured that way or the rental car company didn't want anyone smoking inside.

I don't think smokers realize that throwing cigarette butts on the ground is actually littering.

Why would they? I see cops toss cigarette butts too. Had one toss a butt on my hood after he blew a stop sign.

I could not agree more, Blister!

What disgusts me is the huge number of butts at Bus Stops and around entrances to public buildings and shops.
