If you're still considering Phoenix and ASU, consider knocking out as many of your classes by internet/distance learning as you can, which you can do from your present post (the military may even help pay for the cost - check with your unit's education coordinator). That will help your GI Bill benefits stretch farther. Rio Salado College is a fairly cheap way to do that, their credits transfer over to ASU, and they have a active military program:

ASU has a good veteran's program, I went through on the GI Bill and they do a good job of getting all your benefits in order. Nice place to go to college, very friendly place to live. I like Dallas a lot, too, but good luck wherever you decide and thanks for your service.
