Not 100% sure, but I think Freestone Park in Gilbert has one. They also have a little train that goes around the park, a large lake, carousel for little kids, miniature ferris wheel, batting cages, etc. If you live in the area, you may want to check it out to see.

When I was a kid at St. Mark's Elementary, we were told we were going to get a merry-go-round on the playground. I thought they were putting us on, but couldn't wait to see the carved animals, hear the calliope music, etc. I felt so cheated when I saw a merry-go-round such as you described. No one ever told me they were called "Merry-Go-Rounds" as well. I've never really trusted anyone or anything since.

I remember seeing one of "your" merry-go-rounds at a park in Chandler, I'm trying to remember which one.

There are a few left but I think we get too hot in the summer for the old metal ones. Have you ever tried to ride one of those in 110? XD,

Haha! You're thinking about the Disneyland type of "merry-go-round": a
carrousel!

Funny story! Had a good laugh on this one. The best bet for a real merry go round is probably the Arizona State Fair coming up in October.

A merry-go-round is just a simple spinning thing at an outdoor park. They are called such from California to Virginia, LOL! Yeah, you are thinking of a carousel...that was a cute story though.

Is there still a carousel at Arrowhead Mall? Haven't been there in sometime and didn't really look last time I went.

Hi,

Did you ever locate an old fashioned merry go round in the Phoenix area? I too would be very interested in locating one too.

Thanks!

Lynn
