This I will agree with. There is nothing more annoying than reading a thread and finding it is 2 or 3 old (obviously outdated). Then, and I swear this happens everytime, is some stupid one post wonder troll at the end who has revived the thread. I think there could be some software that could automatically close every thread when there has not been a post to it in say 3 months or so.

Its happening in Nevada also. I'm ready for someone who doesn't close/edit every post to his liking.

I have not had any problems in the Las Vegas section. Once in a while, a post I makes gets edited and deleted. However, it is nothing like what has been going on in the Phoenix section.

Being a Moderator on another Forum (not City Data): it can be a PITA at times, trust me.

I hated to close this because it really was interesting to say the least. I closed it solely because discussing moderator actions is a no no. However, all you folks have been really nice with your discussion. So I am not deleting it. Simply closing it until SouthernBelleInUtah gets back.

She contacted me earlier this evening and is having computer problems. She asked if I'd keep an eye on you rowdies until she gets up and running again. So for better or worse, your stuck with me again.

When she gets back, she can decide to either re-open, or delete.

For what it's worth, we're working on getting a permanent mod in here. Just wanted you folks to know. So please bare with us for now.

Thanks,
ElkHunter

To answer the original quesiton, SpeedyAZ has told me that they don't have time to be a mod now, nor for the foreseeable future. That's why the senior mods are looking for new mods, but it's a long process. We have suggested some names to them but I don't know what, if anything, will come of it.

While UT is a friendly forum, I also visit heavily/frequently other city forums and some in the general forum category. In genral, City-Data is a polite place. We rely on people reporting obnoxious posts, not responding to them and making a flame war.

Happy to see you noticed my absence, either for the good or the bad.
