I can always find products cheaper than Dial ones but what if I spend the extra $0.50 or so for body wash? I'm I helping local people keep their jobs? I know the headquarters are located in Scottsdale somewhere but where are the products manufactured?

What difference does it make where their manufacturing is? The better the sales, the better it is for the entire company which certainly includes the headquarters.

The Dial Corporation, is a subsidiary of the Henkel Group/Germany, which is headquartered in Scottsdale.

You can of course spend your money as you please, but when I want to help local people I do it directly and with some knowledge of where my money is going and I get to see it while I volunteer.

You can always look on the box/product to see where it is made.

In 1988, Evan Mecham appeared to be headed for a recall election. Arizona campaign finance laws, not anticipating recall elections, did not prohibit corporate contributions to candidates in such elections. Most corporations stayed out of it, but Dial did not. Mecham published one of his infamous tabloids attacking just about everybody in the state. Dial put an ad in the tabloid including a coupon for Dial Soap. I have not bought a single bar of their soap since then.

That's certainly your prerogative, but it is rather silly to hold a grudge against a company for this long. Mecham's short reign as Governor happened well over 20 years ago. He became long forgotten about, and even died a few years ago. Almost everybody has allowed bygones to be bygones and simply moved on.

As for Dial itself, I always buy their products. Doing so helps the area's economy and shows loyal support for a large reputable corporation headquartered in the metro area.

Honestly, I won't use another brand of hand soap but Dial.

Their body soap is very good as well.

It is towards the bottom in prices, and I use their products almost exclusively.

So Arizonans keep the jobs but the Germans keep the profits, good enough for me. I will make sure to buy Dial products from now on.

I try to be a cheap person and like to buy Dial soap but my wifes hates it. She says it's too slimy/greasy. She went back to Caress... lot more expensive but at least Costco is carrying it again. Costco had stop carrying Caress for awhile.. I have no idea why they did that.
