Cattle egret - looks like breeding season. I think we surprised each other. They're common in our open areas, but the first time I've wandered up on one along the river.

Hello everyone! I am new to this thread and thank you all for your beautiful birdie photos. They make me wish I had a nice camera and zoom lens for shooting my own closeups of birds. Maybe some day....

This is a Swainsons Hawk I captured in southern Idaho last summer. This is my favorite (so far) hawk species, great color and they seem to be absolutely fearless and don't head for the horizon as soon as they see me.

Canadian Goose... Lives on the lake at Cumberland Mountain State Park, Crossville TN. Has a broken wing and has survived the last 3 years..
