Thought I'd bring this thread back because I've been considering a tripod, but I'm not sure exactly what I should get. I mainly want it so I can take better waterfall pictures using a longer exposure. However, I don't have a crazy expensive camera and don't plan on getting one in the near future...I've got a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H70, as stated before. I'm also not a great photographer by any means. With those two things in mind, I don't wanna go out and buy a really expensive tripod. Any suggestions on which tripod I should look at? I'd prefer a lightweight one if possible.
Assuming you're still using the camera you mentioned in your original post, which appears to be small, you could probably get away with using just about any fairly cheap tripod. I used a $30 tripod from Walmart for years and it did the job. Sure, it wasn't as nice as the one I got later, but it worked just fine until I could justify a nicer one.
