So, do I buy one now? Originally this was my choice. Then came the complaints, so many of them, that Nikon released the D610 in hope to take the focus off the D600. The D600 is down to 1450 through Amazon right now. This is very tempting. Who knows, maybe I won't have problems. If I do, I send it in and get it fixed right? Sounds too easy, tell me your thoughts. Anyone personally have issues with this camera?

i wouldn't , i would go right to the d610. it isn't worth the hassle if there is an issue.

Agree with you. Skip the D600 all together.

I've read the same thing though regarding the D610, dust and oil spots. Go onto Amazon and take a look for yourself. I'm debating buying a Canon 6D, getting an adapter for my Nikon glass, and calling it a day.

Who wouldn't want a D800 but the price difference is pretty substantial. If I could find a great deal on a D600 I wouldn't be afraid to go that route. Retail to retail I'd probably also go D610.

To date I haven't had any issues and I've had two.

The D800 is not worth the extra money to me. Its a grand more, that's a Nikon 16-35 f/4, or a good down payment on the 14-24, or an IR conversion with my current setup, or a website. I've been able to do successful high end quality work with my current setup for the past 3 years, the middle of the road d5100, prior to that the D90. I could make the list go on, but its out of the question.
