DH and I don't care at all for KISS... we like WDVE or - more often than not, lately - the X.

I enjoyed DVE once, then I realized all they do is talk about the Steelers for 3 hours. I like a good "Pants n'at" skit now and then, but gimme a break with the Steelers talk already! I love the team as much as the next guy, but there's only so much you can say about them. During football season you'd swear you were listening to ESPN radio when you listen to DVE.

PS- everyone must be OLD. I realize humor is a very personal and subjective thing, but c'mon...The X???????????? The Morning Freak Show blows the pants off of The X. And the earlier post about NPR. Holy Moly! If you want to fall asleep at the wheel just put on some monotone-talking NPR guys. I mean absolutely ZERO inflection in their voices. I'd rather listen to Myron Cope AND fingernails on a chalkboard at the same time. Wow.

The X is just what I listen to. I'm not saying it's better or worse, since I haven't listened to every morning show in town.

Of course, I'm not looking to crack up on my drive in to work. I'm just looking for a show that mixes music and talk and keeps me interested. I find the DJ's on The X to be amusing but not over-the-top.

Sorry, but 96.1 is just simply awful. Between the slapstick humor, the DJ’s screaming every word they speak, and the insistent fake laughter, RJ and Bubba is one of the most un-listenable programs on morning radio.
I usually switch between the following stations:

102.5 is probably the most consistently funny, although, all of the Steelers talk can get old during the season.

105.9 is not classically “knock-knock joke” funny. They don’t do gags and bits, and are mostly music, but the conversations are funny.

91.3, as said before, the combo o NPR and good music probably makes WYEP the best all day listening station in the city.

Actually, I end up switching stations every couple of months because every show gets to be the same things day after day. Right now I am on the KISS kick, but I'll probably get back to the X and DVE at some point this year.

#1) RJ & Bubba? I don't know them. I listen to Mikey and Big Bob.

#2) I work with people who are dying. All day, everyday. Slapstick is exactly the polar opposite I need to keep sane at times.
