I know there have been some posts here regarding USC HS. Being in an upper middle class demographic with good overall test scores and ranking, I was somewhat skeptical of how negative the comments have been ("snobby", "mean-spirited", "spoiled", "entitled"), chalking it up to a class of the "collars" in Pgh....between blue and white.

However, "googling" USC HS was a real eye-opener. It seems they've had their share of scandals among teachers and staff. The school even dropped their IB Program. And, the sports fan are known to chant derrogatory remarks to opposing teams from lower SES areas ("that's alright; that's okay; you're gonna work for us someday" while waving dollar bills).

Guess you folks were sadly, right

Hate to sound like a broken record, but it's true. I grew up there and know firsthand how truly ingrained in people's attitudes this superior feeling is. There are lots of other affluent areas in Pittsburgh, but none have the elitist attitude like good old USC. Somehow the parents of these mean-spirited children haven't seemed to figure out that simply having money does not mean that one has any class. And raising your children to believe that the more money one has the better they are is simply wrong on so many different levels.

Fox Chapel schools is another one. The "Boro" kids really don't like the "River Rats" (Sharpsburg, Blawnox and Aspinwall). One day last week, some "Boro" kids went to school dressed in dirty old clothes which insulted the "River" kids who walked out of school. So much for diversity.
