Hi! New lurker over here.

Just moved to the area recently.

Are there any local farmers markets and/or farms you guys would recommend since the season is starting?

I live east of Pittsburgh between Greensburg and Monroeville and I’ve found Schramm’s Farm out in Jeannette.

And suggestions and recommendations would be wonderful.

Sarver Hill Farm is an organic farm located in Greensburg, PA. They have a crop share program, which is something I have never seen before. The earlier you sign up, the cheaper the share price. You can also volunteer on the farm and earn extra produce and consistent volunteerism is rewarded with a discounted share price.

They also sell produce at local farmers markets. If memory serves, they are at the Westmoreland Museum of Art's farmers market on Thursday afternoons and in Teddy's Restaurant parking lot farmers market in North Huntingdon on Saturday mornings.

The farm also has farmstand hours. Here is the farm's website:

Ligioner supposedly has a giant farmers market on Saturday mornings, but I have never been to it. It is billed as the largest farmers market in Western PA.

No problem! Also, I meant Ligonier for the huge market. I misspelled the town's name in my earlier post. Here is their website: Ligonier Country Market | Home
