I went to primantis Monday and I tried their cheesesteak. not impressed. I feel like the more hype people give a place, the least im going to like it. that's why I go to social at bakery square since I like their food.

Szmidt's is amazing and the new location will be more convenient to get to, so that's great news.

Met some friends for a b-day party last week at Lidia's, or is it Lydia's? As always, I got the trio, always good. Service as well.

Coming home from the airport Sunday Night my wife wanted to see the Duck. So we drove through Downtown and headed to the Great White North. Stopped at 3 places, all closing at 9 PM. Ended up at, gulp, the Cheesecake Factory at The Mall. Pretty good clam chowder, and ya gotta admit, the place looks great.

Gotta try the pastrami with egg n'at...add cheese. Pastrami is the cadillac of lunch meats, anyways...

No matter how much cutesy "yuns" spin people put on it, Primanti's is not good food.

I worked at a major hotel Downtown and countless people would ask me for directions to Primanti's because they heard about it on the Food Network or wherever. I personally am not a fan, so when asked about my opinion, I would say " A lot of people rave about it" I did not want to tell them that it sucked IMHO since that is one of the things they looked forward to doing in Pittsburgh and I did not want to burst their bubble.
One British woman asked me about the location of an Italian restaurant called "Primonti's" she noticed that kept showing up on her search engine about restaurants in Pittsburgh. I told her what it was "Oh my!"
I more or less let people find out for themselves. Reviews were mixed, not surprisingly.
