Slide #1 is the Victoria Peak Tram in Hong Kong, which I've been on.

Didn't get a real bite on either one. Guess I'll have to try new bait next time.

You left the "p" off of "tramps", you bozo.

Feel better now?

From the "Pittsburgh" link in the narrative on that page:

Pittsburgh wows first-time visitors today with crystal-clear rivers....

I guess "crystal-clear" is just a nice way of saying "not nearly as dirty as they used to be". Crystal-clear they ain't....

Rivers are never "Crystal clear" - they carry sediment and minerals to the oceans (hence the salty ocean water).

I would agree that the rivers are much less polluted than they used to be.

True.

The thing that just struck me about that description is that, there are plenty of streams where you can see the rocks on the bottom. Those might reasonable be described as "Crystal clear". Look at our river water, and what you see is the suspended sediment in it. They're actually pretty opaque...

only shallow rivers have visible rocks, for the most part. Go upstream a ways and you can see rocks.
