My hubby and I are Burgh bound in the spring...

We have been living in Myrtle Beach and do NOT like it...many reasons...that are really hard for beach goers to understand...ANYWAY...

We lived in Monroeville before our move eight years ago and now have a big beautiful 102 pound red brindle retired racing greyhound....

Please help guide us to some "pet friendly" rentals in nice neighborhoods...i.e. Oakmont, Squirrel Hill, Southside?, Mt. Lebanon...any other place you guys can think of that we could get a nice 2 bedroom/2 bath townhouse, apartment, house....I do not know much about areas past Monroeville and downtown area...what is safe...what is not safe...

I have inquired about the Flat Works and they no longer accept pets into their units which is a bummer...looked good to us....

My husband will be working in Pittsburgh and hopefully I can get a job back where I worked at Carnegie Mellon University...

So happy to be coming home...any help is greatly appreciated, Carole

Welcome back home! I would consider the neighborhoods good places for pets and walking them. Where will your husband be working in the city? That could make some of the neighborhoods you mentioned more or less desirable to live in with the commute.

I'd check out the area in and around Regent Square as well--it is close to Frick Park and there are lots of dog owners, and also convenient for CMU and Downtown.

Welcome home!

I second the rec for Regent Square. That neighborhood has a reputation as the "dog owner" neighborhood, plus it will have reasonably priced rentals and easy access to CMU.
