I've heard they are better than Maronda homes. Heartland is supposed to be a little better than Ryan.

Ryan builds a very good home for the money. Better than Heartland and much much better than Maronda.

My parents live in a Maronda development. I hate that developer. They make very cheap and crappy housing in neighborhoods where you can't get any worse of cookie cutter looking the same crappy development. They are so greedy they don't even bother to put in parks, public pools, or sidewalks for the residents. I don't know about Ryan. Atleast you didn't go with the urban sprawl kings Maronda.

This is one area where you get what you pay for I think. Volume is the key with these builders. It is kind of like Wal-Mart. Do you go there for the quality of the items or the price?

Are there any incentives offered by them? |

We are now looking out in Jefferson Hills in the new Ryan Homes community (Patriot Pointe) Same house is about 50k less w/ MUCHbetter lots (back yard is twice as big, wonderful views, better school district) We have talked to a few people who have bought Ryan homes in the Pittsburgh area and they all have small gripes, but nothing major. My advice is if location doesn't matter that much take a look out in Jefferson Hills, there are still a lot of lots left (They haven't even posted it on the Ryan Homes website) and also do not skimp on the structural upgrades... It is much easier to install hardwood flooring in the future than it is to put in a Morning Room... |

Earlier this year I was browsing their site and saw the Baldwin development. It looks like a great central location and (at the time) seemed very reasonable to get a decent new construction house close to the city for $200. I guess the development is doing well

Are you contracting in a Ryan development to build a Ryan home? Or did you buy a plot of land and are building a Ryan home there? (I have friends that did that...)

I actually just got an email that said they are down to 10 lots left... and remember their base prices are not very good to go by... When you add on a $20k lot premium and 50k in add ons you are looking closer to 300k
