Agreed. I love the way Croghan's Edge is wedged into that small triangular lot... it really maximizes the space and is very urban. I did the "lego battleship" design as well... it's different from the traditional neighborhood architecture... but certainly doesn't insult the urban fabric like a split-level or a parking lot would.

On the other end of the spectrum... I also love Doughboy Townhouses' attempt to reflect Lawrenceville's traditional architecture. This type of architectural "historic re-creation" seems to be getting better all the time. This development has transformed the formerly depressing Doughboy Square and will spur further revitalization throughout the area.

I don't like the Doughboy Townhouses as much, but I agree they are a decent example of the breed, and a more history-referencing approach probably makes sense there:

Now if they could just bulldoze JK's Place and fill in the gap...I also don't like the Parking lot right there.

Isn't that lot slated for apartments?

My understanding is the gap at the end won't be filled in any time soon. One of the owners of the vacant land didn't want to give theirs up. The URA finagled a land swap so it wouldn't be in the middle of the development, but if they weren't willing to part with it on the first development job, my guess is they won't for this one either.

I believe JK's place has a huge hole in the back you can easily walk through. It might be the place next door which used to have the ghetto car service however.
