Good point Garlic. Not only the first round of wasteful spending, but now a certain prominent leader is proposing the second round of wasteful spending alleging if we only hire more teachers, firemen and policemen it will lead us out of our economic crisis. This is the new supposed "jobs bill".

I wonder how much of the first round of stimulus money the Pine Richland school district received ?

Does anyone know the reason why the school superintendent and executive directors at Pine Richland go into a private session with the school board members to negotiate their compensation packages?

Given claims of transparency, should this not be in an open forum?

Your comment is unfortunately a "billiant glimmer of the obvious".

GVmove,

If the answer was so obvious, then the question wouldn't have been asked. Obviously, the brilliance wasn't as apparent as it was to you.

Default ALERT: Pine Richland tax payers

If you are a resident of the Pine Richland school district and troubled over the recent school tax increase, please read the following:

In the most recent issue of the "Pine Creek Journal" dated 7/26, there is an informative article written by staff writer Deborah Deasy.

This article fully explains the PR citizens grass roots effort and petition which was presented to the school board at the July 16th meeting. The article explains the purpose of the group, their presented petition and the purpose of their thrust. Their intent is have a positive influence on the ongoing contract negotiations.

GVmove wasn't insulting you.

He was insulting the OP for asking CD members when the obvious route to an answer is to ask the school board and admistrators.

Hopes,

Thank you for clarifying his intentions. I do apologize for reacting with an inappropriate rebuttal.

I have read the article and found it to be very informative. I was particularly impressed that one of your members filed a Right to Know request for the teacher's salaries and benfits. I am assuming that this delineates this information for each teacher at PR. This information shows that this group is working from fact and not assumption.

I for one, am proud of this citizens group, commend you and will be at the next school board meeting on 8/13 to support you and your well intended and badly needed effort. I really hope that there will be many other Pine Richland tax payers in attendance to give you this support and to show the Board and teachers that we as a community want some accountability regarding excessive and unnecessary costs resulting in tax increases.
