We will be in your fair state soon and I am looking for driving route suggestions between Greensberg and Moon Township (roughly Pitt International Airport). We will be driving through mid-day-11:00-1:00 or so. Google Maps has me taking 22 most of the way but that looks like it goes right through downtown Pittsburgh. Is that going to be a traffic headache or should we be ok. Any other route suggestions welcome. Also, Google maps has this route pegged at just at an hour, is that realistic? Thanks!

Here's a very recent thread on the exact same driving route.

Airport Driving Route

Read it all the way through. The OP posted after the trip to let us know what route he took and how it went.

at mid-day - i think pittsburgh is one of the few cities where youd be better off taking what looks on paper like the most direct way. i think you will be fine, but check out this link prior to your trip to determine if you may need a little extra time:

PennDOT District 11-0 Roadwork Construction

welcome to PA, and i hope you enjoy your stay. please use your turn signals when switching lanes.

on I-376, after you pass the Stanwix Street exit, stay in the left lane, and coast down to about 45mph because you will hit a relatively sharp curve onto the bridge, after which you will go straight into the tunnel.
(if you stay in the right lane, you will have to deal with people recklessly merging into your lane on the bridge, and thats a pain).
