There's a thread on the United States forum about the most annoying accent in America, and the Pittsburgh one is gaining traction. On one of the videos in the thread the girls say Picksburgh. Do you? Be honest.

There's a strong T in my pronouciation.

That's not just because lived in other countries and states as a child.

It's a rare Pittsburgher who speaks true Pittsburgheze.

I've never encountered one.

No.
Never have, and none of the people I know do either.

It's spelt Pittsburgh, but it's pronounced 'Throatwobbler Mangrove'

The only person I know that really says Picksburgh was born and raised in Oil City.

Not Pittsburgh.

Regional accents are disappearing. It's a rare under 35-something who still has one worth its salt.

Talk to the 50 and older crowd - there you'll find some Pittsburghese in all its glory. And not a one of them says 'Picksburgh'.

No. That's like thinking everyone in New Jersey says Joisey. I read your comments on the General US forum and you're pretty ignorant and rude about Pittsburgh. The reason it's gaining traction is because you are posting a video of someone forcing a Pittsburgh accent out of themselves in every other comment.

On that note, I went and looked up the Other comments myself... And if I am reading correctly, the user is from the Greenville SC area. Which is a funny place to be if you are going to be delivering lectures on elocution.
I love the internet. I may bust a gut if I think about that much more.

Never. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, and I've never said it. I dislike when people say that because it comes with the stereotype that people from Pittsburgh are illiterate and morons which I personally take offense to. Nobody says it like that, none of my family says it and they've been here a long time. My Great-great parents were born and raised in Bloomfield in the early 1910's.

So no, few to none say it like that.
