Thanks Brian. Once I'm 100% sure that the house is mine I'll post pictures. I'm afraid if I do it now I will somehow jinx it. Even though it's scary to be moving thousands of miles away from my family and friends, I am eager to get there. I can't wait to get all the work done on the house,. I can't wait to have my own washer and dryer again. I can't wait to have plenty of space. I can't wait for my expenses to go down by $2000 a month. I can't wait to live in a house with beautiful period details. I've lived in big old houses in San Francisco before, but none had the exquisite details that this house has. I feel incredibly lucky and blessed especially considering the financial and emotional mess I had been dealing with up to just a year ago.
This forum has been a huge help in the decision making process. It's difficult to do this stuff from across the country. Learning about the area from locals like yourself and hearing the glowing reports from recent arrivals like Okaydorothy, among others, has given me confidence throughout my journey. It really does feel like a new phase of my life is about to begin.
