this is the person who killed james price. there's a lot of background in this story. he says he took off because he was "scared" and i guess that's why he initially lied to the police too. hitting someone accidentally is one thing, but driving off is just inhuman and despicable.

I often suspect hit and run drivers flee because they have been drinking and/or using drugs. It is very difficult to understand why you would just leave, especially since you do not know whether the person needs help or not.

Sadly, a lot of times people just don't care. When a woman in an SUV ran a red light and totaled my car in 2011 I had multiple experiences from onlookers. The woman behind the SUV (ironically the SUV driver's neighbor) stopped and gave a statement to police to assist me and the insurance companies in regards to the crash (GOOD). A man turning from the main road the accident occurred along onto the nearest side street rolled down his window and asked if I was okay before proceeding (GOOD). Then there was the jerk who had the nerve to HONK because we were in his way, stunned, with broken vehicles (BAD!). I have a feeling that third guy probably would have been the type to have hit someone and just kept on going.

I, on the other hand, would be MORTIFIED if I hit someone and would immediately stop and render aid. I can't imagine how this individual could have slept when he got home knowing he just killed someone.
