Yes, it's called the afternoon edition of the Post, on-line only.

I actually looked into getting the paper delivered now, at least on Sundays, so I can lounge on my couch and drink coffee. So maybe more people will be like me and subscribe to home delivery, and at least get coupons and dirty hands out of it rather than just paying for the online edition.

I guess they have to try whatever then to survive I just don't see charging $9.99 a month to be much of a cash cow either. I don't see anything compelling enough in their content to pay when I can get my news elsewhere. They dont even have a monopoly on local news that other papers which charge for content at least do.

I'm a dinosaur, I read both papers everyday. Then I get the Pgh Press sent via pdf in the afternoon. They need to let those that subscribe to the paper to get it for free on-line.

I don't think a paper can exist these days with on-line only, things change.
"Post-Gazette print customers with home delivery subscriptions will have unlimited digital access. "
I wonder how that will work, do I have to stay logged in or something? Ugh. That ain't going to happen.

Makes sense.

As UKyank says, the quality of their content really doesn't compel me to pay for it.

I'm old school, I would hate to see the daily newspaper die out. If it does, who will report the news? Bloggers, hipsters, or Limbaugh?

The quality of their online content isn't enough to warrant 10/month for me. If I am paying a fee, I'd expect less intrusive ads, better proof reading, better attention to overall detail, and more special interest stories (aside from the hard news). They often run "breaking news" articles that are so poorly written to the point that that they are hard to understand. Their Pitt coverage is often lacking and they definitely show a bias for PSU, both in what they cover (positive vs negative) and what they allow comments on. If anything, we would probably get the Sunday edition delivered and get the free online subscription that comes with it.

My thoughts exactly.

The P-G actually haas a lot of good online content that isn't in the print edition: I enjoy the additional columns by Rob Owen, who writes about TV, and the Digs section is always interesting - it's where they pull out old photos from the archives and run a story about them. There's lot of other online content that I don't have time to explore.
