Why dwell on what didn't happen?

Honestly, you don't see the glass as half empty. You see it as possibly drowning somebody.

Oof.

Probably would not have made a difference today in the end, but Hurdle has to stop letting his starters completely fall apart before he yanks them.

The ability to rinse off losses like this has been a hallmark of the Pirates this season, so hopefully they show it tomorrow and Gerrit Cole steps up and is a man and they bring it home at 1-1.

Yeah. At the point Hurdle brought in Gomar, he might've just as well let AJ finish the inning. There was only one runner on base.

Martin could've helped too. It was obvious AJ couldn't locate his curve ball and Cards were sitting fastball deep in counts. When you don't have it, you don't have it, move on.

I like Bucs chances tomorrow. They can hit Lynn. Cards haven't seen Cole yet.

Agreed on the pitching matchup. Hopefully Cole has his curve working to keep the Cards from sitting on his fastball/slider combo.

Need the fielding to be sharper tomorrow, need to be aggressive against Lynn, and we need the Cards to not keep up their ridiculous batting average with RISP for a change.

Anyone else taking a half-day of work?

I'll be streaming the radio feed at my office...saving a half-day of work for the possibility of a Monday Game 4 taking place in the middle of the afternoon.

So, Gerrit Cole stepped up and was a man today. Huge, huge performance. Nine more outs to come home with the series at 1-1.

Shhh. Remember what happened with just one out to go a while back. Right now there are still three to go.

Cautiously optimistic. If the Pirates win, I get to go to the game on Monday! (That would also happen if they win Sunday, but I like knowing in advance. Sunday's game time has been set to 4:30!)
