WPXI is known to be a joke, but honestly there is nothing wrong with this article. It has a detailed 130 page report attached to the article that covers everything you wanted to know about neighborhood crime stats. Not exactly ridiculous in this instance.

Edit: I did not watch the video

Wow! LIVE! LOCAL! LATE BREAKING! This is "coverage I can definitely count on!"

How silly. The reporter didn't "crunch the numbers." They just looked at the report and sent a crew out to get some B roll.

It will be nice when November sweeps are over and they go back to just re-writing news from the Post-Gazette and Tribune-Review.

Stories like this are consultant-driven. The best way to get ratings for their advertisers are to put together stupid "investigative reports" with little substance.

Here are crime statistics from the City. They start on about page 60. It is what one would expect. The same neighborhoods as we all know make up the violent crime. WPXI does its normal crap with saying downtown has the most theft. Um, well it has the biggest shopping district, so no kidding PXI, you bunch of dopes.

Crime, accidents, "severe" weather and children left on school buses sells commercials.

Honestly, the hype within the last few days on this killer snowstorm we had this morning was over the top. Imagine, a dusting of snow in the northern hemisphere in November.

So don't watch. That's what I do.

It's a sweeps month until Nov. 27, so expect more news hyperbole.

I didn't watch. I happened to see a plug for this report on a commercial, couldn't imagine any neighborhood in Pittsburgh being "dangerous", and looked it up on their website.

Oh and I did watch the video. I am shocked and really scared to go into the city now. What about downtown? They had the most thefts, so you better not go there. Maybe I need to relocate further out and take a job well out of the city. It is just too much to take these days. lol I can't help but to find humor in it, but sadly many people really think the hyped up stuff is how it is and we all need to be afraid of weather, crime that hits us all daily and of course the boogieman.

They had snow to cover also, so snow + November sweeps = gold.

Reporting on crime and where it is committed is the news. I don't have a problem with the story.
