Not sure about the parking lot, but both garages allow leases during day games except for the time when the game is on. So, say, if the game starts at noon, as a lease holder you should be in the garage by 9 or 10am and can stay there for the entire day. If you get there right before the game, even with the lease, they will not let you in. If, however, you don't have a lease at all, you will not be able to pay and park in the morning at all, no matter how early you come, as they try to reserve as many spots as possible for the game crowd.

This entire thread has made me so very happy that I catch a bus a block from my front door, 20 mins to town, and get dropped off a block from my office. I would have a breakdown trying to deal with this on a daily basis.

Good luck!!

Yeah, I think my problems riding a bus were (in the order of importance):
- smelly fellow riders
- buses not stopping at my stop because full
- buses being late
- buses not showing up at all
- infrequent bus schedules,
- rude bus drivers.

With that being said, working from home rules

Likewise. But having lived 1/2 block from the T in Dormont, if I worked 9-5 Downtown, I would find a home along the T. It may be slow, but it's consistent.

when i called today they said the 5A lot has stricter rules

but the pirates dont play for another 4 months, so its not a problem right now

I could drive and park there, put my name on waiting list parking lots, and also try the bus to see if I like that

You will be fine. I got adjusted to large city commuting in Seattle and continued it here. (Before that I had super short commutes in more suburbian and rural areas. ) I would have loved to take a bus or train to work but it didn't work with my location.

Smart idea, see what fits best for you, based on your own schedule.

Weekday daytime games are fairly rare, fewer than 10 of them last regular season, IIRC.

Hi, thanks to everyone here for the help

We have decided to rent in the woodbrigde condo....the apartments near ross mall are awesome (the mews, the lenox oval), however, we decided we wanted to live a little south of there to avoid the mall traffic and lights.

However, I was very impressed with pitt, if I was still single I would live in shadyside.

Our apt is 7 miles to the north shore parking lot, so I think this should be a decent daily commute

Now to figure out Alco parking and any shortcuts to get to work everyday...lol
