My wife and I are moving from Louisville, KY to Pittsburgh, PA. Where would be a good area to move to. We both grew up in the city area (Columbus, OH). I make about 35k a year, what do you think?

Depends on where you are going to be working at, Pittsburgh is a huge area and you really don't want a nightmare commute, and whether or not you have children that need to attend school.

Mt. Washington/Duquesne Heights is an affordable city area close to downtown and easy on a commute either into town or out. Close to many conveniences, also has many beautiful views. Has its own CBD, very walkable, etc...

Do you want to live in the city or the suburbs? Would you be open to living in an affordable old town just across the river from the city?

Rocky - you need to address what others have asked - hours working, location of work, kids, etc.

as a good starting point, though, a benchmark of sorts, id say start with Crafton Borough for location, accessibility to commercial districts, schools, etc.

welcome to Pittsburgh. hope you like it! please, use your turn signal.
