The universities do pay PAT. Just because it's not directly out of an employee's or student's wallet every week doesn't mean it's not part of their compensation or fees.

I know students pay through their tuition, but exactly how does Employees of the Universities pay? I always thought Free Transit was apart of their benefits packages.

Yes, especially when the rest of the modern world has moved on from it. But again this is Pittsburgh

At Pitt, students pay $90 every term. That includes anyone who is taking a class. CMU students pay $120 per year. I don't know if Chatham or Duquesne has, they both have "University fees" which might cover it.

That's what I mean. It's part of their compensation. When someone is deciding whether or not to take a job at Pitt or CMU they take the value of a bus pass into consideration. Regardless of how you look at it, Pitt and CMU are paying PAT for those passes.

Right like I said, Students pay, Employees are my question though. They get the same type of UPass as the Students but so far I was under the impression their pass was part of a benefits package for being an employee of the University? So they truly do ride free.

Awww come on that's convoluted response! Its Free for the Employees, they don't pay for it, the University does, it has NO Impact on their salaries. Students do Pay for the service since they are charged in their tuition.

What rest of the modern world? You can pay cash on nyc buses. I could probably agree with the gist of your message but if I want histrionics about how pittsburgh people are so stupid and behind the times, and how the reason I am not in a tizzy is I don't work for a living, that is what we keep SteelCityRising around for.
