Armstrong vs Consolidated cable/internet? (Pittsburgh: live, price, centers)

Moving from Boston to cranberry township area. Been a long time comcast user.

Which's a better service in terms of cost and cable UI as well?

I had Armstrong when I lived a few counties north, and found the price better, good connectivness, along with MUCH better customer service. Never had too many issues when I had Comcast, but more issues fell through the cracks, some offshore CS with bad hand-offs to the folks in the US, and the service centers were hit or miss.

With Armstrong, I always spoke with someone from this area, they were polite and competent, and did what they said they would on time. One thing Armstrong did make mandatory, was that you had to use their modem, but at least there was no charge. When I had them, there were caps, but this may have changed. If you value Consumer Reports, they place Armstrong as the #1 cable company in the US... Comcast not so much.

Comcast may however, have services/speeds/ that Armstrong perhaps does not offer. Welcome to the area, and good luck!

They do have several packages so you can pick what you need.

I've subscribed to both and I prefer Armstrong.

Consolidated has a very clunky set up. Armstrong has great customer service all the way around. You don't wait long when you call them, they are friendly, helpful and most of all reasonable. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Definitely Armstrong. I lived in Cranberry for 8 years and sold communications eqpt to both Armstrong & Consolidated (back when it was North Pittsburgh). Armstrong's broadband cable network delivers higher speeds at greater subscriber density than Consolidated's legacy voice network. That's just the technology difference. Cable companies have always had a bandwidth advantages over telephone companies. You as the consumer benefit from that.
