I think a lot of the condos in Oakmont are starter homes for younger couples so naturally they turn over more frequently.

Forest Hills is either on the decline or has declined and bottomed out. My guess would be it is still declining. Oakmont is pretty stable and has been for some time.

Oakmont isn't that cheap. You really do pay a premium to live there. So, bang for your buck is better in Forest Hills.

As far as traffic. I would rather deal with the Hulton Bridge than the parkway. So, Oakmont would be my choice based on location.

I have a friend who rents a house out in Forest Hills. I personally think it's a nice neighborhood.. nothing special but certainly not bad. I'm not sure if you will get the "community feel" that you are looking for there though. It's not a huge neighborhood. Also, to get to alot of places from Forest Hills (downtown for example) you'd have to use the Squirrel Hill tunnels which doesnt really seem fun. However, for Oakmont I guess you'd have to take 28 which also doesnt sound fun, lol- better than the tunnels during rush hour im assuming.

Anyways, for the "community feel" I would choose Oakmont. Forest hills is small. Can you google map it and go on Street view.

I heard oakmont has an amazing bakery.
